We heard from Dale Grau of Minnesota this week... Dale has a very nice collection of Deuces which he drives regularly and for quite some distances ! Good for Dale ! One of his cars is a 32 which he has owned for 45 Years ! How about that ! Here are some of Dale and Elvis Grau’s cars and stories.....

Let’s start with the one he didn’t let get away !  The Blue 5 window was my high school car, I bought it when I was 16. I drove it to high school and to my 40th school reunion! I have owned it for 45 years now. It is powered by a small block Ford, that was installed in 1964, a Jag rear and a Heidts front. My wife Elvis did the interior, we both with my friend Barry Pleasant's help did the body work, Barry painted it. It rolls on Zenith knock off wire wheels.

The Black number 42 car has a 350, 700R4 and a 9 inch Ford. It was built by Norm Jones in Austin TX, I added the hood straps, changed wheels, added the numbers and had the flames pin striped.

The red Victoria was built by Brizio street rods in 1986. I have owned it for the last four years. It is powered by a 350 with a 350 trans and a Jag rear and a 4 bar front. It has Zenith wire wheels. The interior was done by Dan Drumm.

This is my newest addition to my deuce collection. This is all Henry Ford steel except the back cowl of the body which is a Brookville piece. It is powered by a modified flathead, 37 trans, quickchange rear, 40 Ford brakes. A moon tank on the rear, bomber seats, schroder sprint car cowl steering. It was built by Mike Wells in Hamilton NY. I know I am going to have lots of fun in this car next summer.

I built this car in the winter of 2003. In May of 2004 I left home from Minnesota with 400 miles on the odometer and drove to York PA to the Nationals East,I met up with my friend Barry Pleasant with his roadster and we drove west to Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals in Indy. After Indy, we went to the. LA Roadster show, Zion National Park ,Reno, NV, Bonneville, Yellowstone, Black Hills, and back to my home in Minnesota. That first trip was a tad over 10,000 miles. This summer we did the same thing but a different route and racked up over 11,000 miles. What a great way to see the USA! My car is a metal Rod Bod body, Cornhusker chassis, 350/350 and a 9 inch ford. I painted it Hot Wheels Blue and the interior was done by Rapids Upholstery in Sauk Rapids, MN. in bright red.

This car belongs to my friend Barry Pleasant from Coventry CT. It is a metal RodBod on a Boyd Coddington chassis, powered by a LS-1 corvette with a 6 speed. He built and painted it over the winter of 2003.He drove with me on the "topless tour" cross country trips in 2004 and 06. When he left home to meet me in York he had about 200 miles on the odometer. We both had a blast driving cross country two times.....so far.

Hey.... We can tell Dennis and Barry know how to have a great time !
